He has more than 26 years of experience in teaching and research, including over 18 years of postdoctoral and independent research in molecular parasitology, vector biology, medical entomology, functional genomics, and infectious disease biology.

Dr. Sharma obtained his Ph.D. in Zoology from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, and subsequently held research positions at several leading national and international institutions, including the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi; the National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR), New Delhi; and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Uppsala, Sweden, under the Indo–Swedish Collaborative Research Programme.

His research focuses on the molecular interactions between mosquito vectors and pathogens, mosquito immunity, vector microbiomes, malaria parasite biology, functional genomics, insecticide resistance, and the ecology of vector-borne diseases. In recent years, his work has expanded to include One Health approaches, integrating vector biology, environmental health, climate-sensitive disease ecology, and molecular epidemiology to better understand the dynamics of emerging infectious diseases.

Dr. Sharma has published *38 peer-reviewed research articles* in reputed international journals and has received *more than 1,200 citations*, reflecting the impact of his contributions to vector biology and infectious disease research. He has successfully led and participated in externally funded research projects supported by national funding agencies and has collaborated with scientists from India, Europe, and other international research institutions.

In addition to his research, Dr. Sharma has extensive experience in teaching undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in Molecular Biology, Medical Entomology, Vector Biology, Parasitology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Research Methodology, and Biostatistics. He has supervised postgraduate and doctoral researchers, contributed to curriculum development, and actively mentored young scientists in research design, scientific writing, publication ethics, and grant proposal preparation.

As Editor, Dr. Sharma is committed to maintaining high standards of scientific quality, integrity, and transparency in scholarly publishing. His editorial interests include vector biology, medical entomology, vector–pathogen interactions, mosquito microbiomes, vector genomics, insecticide resistance, molecular epidemiology, climate and vector ecology, One Health, emerging vector-borne diseases, and innovative approaches to vector surveillance and control. He is particularly interested in interdisciplinary research that advances both fundamental knowledge and practical applications for the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases.

Through his editorial role, Dr. Sharma aims to promote rigorous peer review, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, and support the dissemination of high-quality research that contributes to improving public health and advancing the global understanding of vectors and vector-borne diseases.
