Crossref & DOI Assignment

Crossref is a DOI registration agency, not an index. It belongs here rather than in the list above: membership is a prerequisite for indexing rather than a form of it, and it is available to the journal directly rather than by application and evaluation.

Genesis Biologica assigns a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to every published article through Crossref, giving each piece of work a permanent, citable link regardless of where it is later mirrored or indexed. Article metadata is deposited with Crossref on publication, including the full reference list, so that citations from this journal are linked and counted wherever they appear.

The journal deposits references openly, in line with the Initiative for Open Citations (I4OC). Open reference deposit is what allows Scopus, Web of Science, Dimensions and OpenCitations to build the citation graph around an article, and it costs nothing.

Status: Crossref membership is being established. DOIs will be assigned from the first published article onwards.

Long-Term Archiving

The journal is evaluating participation in recognised digital preservation programs so that published content remains accessible even in the event the journal itself is no longer actively publishing.

Updates to This Page

Indexing and abstracting applications are an ongoing process for any newly launched title. This page will be updated as soon as each listing above is confirmed by the respective database. For questions about a specific index or directory, please contact the editorial office.
